Terms of Service

1. Agreement

These terms are an agreement between you and Remowise (“Remowise”, “we”, “us”) for using www.remowise.com and the services on it. By creating an account or using the platform, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy. If you use Remowise for a business, you accept them on its behalf.

You must be at least 18 and able to enter a binding contract.

2. What Remowise is, and is not

Remowise is a platform. We help homeowners visualize and price renovations and connect with independent contractors and suppliers. We do not perform renovation work, and unless we say otherwise in writing for a specific project, we are not a party to any contract between a homeowner and a contractor or supplier.

Contractors and suppliers are independent businesses, not our employees or agents. We review partner applications before listing them, but we do not guarantee their work, products, prices, availability, licences or insurance. Check credentials, get a written contract, and confirm permits before work starts.

3. AI designs and estimates

• Designs are concept images.They are generated by AI and may not reflect what can be built in your space, your building’s structure, codes, or exact products, colours and dimensions.
• Estimates are indicative, not quotes. Material prices come from partner catalogues and may change. Labour, fees and timelines are estimates until a contractor visits and quotes. Room sizes suggested from photos are approximations.
• Structural and layout changes need professionals. Removing or altering walls, openings, plumbing or electrical work may require a structural engineer, permits and inspections. Whether a wall is load-bearing can only be confirmed on site. Do not rely on Remowise to make that determination.

Final scope, price and schedule are whatever you agree in writing with your contractor.

4. Accounts

Keep your login details secure and your information accurate. You are responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at privacy@remowise.com if you think someone else has accessed it. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms, put others at risk, or have been inactive for a long time.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, notes and other content you upload. You give us a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, copy, process and display it to run the platform: to generate designs and estimates, to share your project with contractors when you request it, and, for partners, to show your published profile, portfolio and listings.

Designs generated for you are yours to use for your renovation. We will not use your photos or designs in our marketing without your permission.

You confirm you have the rights to what you upload and that it does not infringe anyone else’s rights or include other people’s personal information without their consent.

6. Acceptable use

Do not:

• upload content that is unlawful, harmful, sexual, or that you are not allowed to share;
• use the platform to harass, mislead or defraud anyone, including through fake reviews, listings or project requests;
• scrape, copy or resell our content, estimates or partner data, or get around usage limits;
• interfere with the platform’s security or operation, or try to access accounts or data that are not yours;
• contact partners or homeowners met through Remowise for purposes unrelated to their project or listing.

7. Contractors and suppliers

If you join as a contractor or supplier, you also agree to:

• keep your business details, licences, insurance, WSIB standing, products and prices accurate and current;
• honour prices and rates you publish for a reasonable time, and clearly say what they include;
• hold every licence, permit, insurance and registration your work requires;
• use homeowners’ information only to respond to their project, and handle it lawfully;
• only publish photos and descriptions of work and products you have the right to show.

Your account is reviewed before it goes public, and we may review, hold or remove listings, rates or profiles that look inaccurate or break these terms. Any fees or commission for partners are set out in a separate partner agreement or pricing page.

8. Fees

Creating designs and estimates is free for homeowners, within daily limits. If we introduce paid features, we will show the price before you pay. Payments for renovation work are made between you and your contractor or supplier unless a specific written agreement with us says otherwise.

9. Our platform

The platform, its software, design, text, estimates engine and brand belong to Remowise or our licensors. You may use them only to use the service as intended. We may change, limit or discontinue features, and we may update daily limits, at any time.

10. Disclaimers

The platform, designs and estimates are provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties, express or implied, including about accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that cannot be waived, including Ontario’s Consumer Protection Act, 2002.

11. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Remowise is not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for loss of profits, data or goodwill, arising from your use of the platform. We are not liable for the work, products, conduct or pricing of contractors and suppliers, or for decisions made based on AI designs or estimates.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the platform is limited to the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100.

12. Indemnity

You agree to compensate us for claims, losses and costs, including reasonable legal fees, that arise from content you upload, your breach of these terms, or, for partners, your work, products or dealings with homeowners.

13. Ending your use

You can stop using Remowise and ask us to close your account at any time. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms or to protect users or the platform. Sections that by their nature should continue, such as content licences needed to finish an active project, disclaimers, liability and indemnity, continue after your account closes.

14. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. Before starting a formal dispute, contact us at privacy@remowise.com so we can try to resolve it. Disputes that are not resolved go to the courts of Ontario, unless consumer protection law gives you the right to bring them elsewhere.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will change the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell account holders by email or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Remowise after changes take effect means you accept them.
